In these online seminars, the participants approach the inclusion of people with disabilities from a different perspective, focused on comics and science fiction. Taking as a reference the International Star Wars Days, the Museums and the Geek Pride Day, very diverse topics are addressed.
The subject of the meeting on May 18, organized within the context of International Museum Day, was the accessibility of museums, and other places of interest such as archaeological sites, for people with disabilities. As José Luis López Bastías affirms in his contribution on the Instrumental Method for the Collection of Information on Accessibility in Museums, “access to culture is a key universal right”. Among the other issues raised was the role of sign guides in museums for the community of deaf people. The 25th, the day the event ends, will be organized around the Geek Pride Day, in which, among other things, the role of deaf characters in the Marvel comic is analyzed.
